George Knapp Reports on Owyhee + Laura Leigh Interview

The number of horse deaths at Owyhee has risen to 14. This from a BLM report, so please use your own judgement in determining the accuracy of this count.   Two more foals were run until their hooves feel off but the BLM is claiming that both foals had pre-existing problems.  What are the odds of that happening? Without public access to the trap site, we have no accurate way of determining what is actually going on during the roundup.  Please watch George Knapp's video below for all the details.

BLM Violates Laura Leigh's First Amendment Rights - More Horses Die in Bloody Rounup

Yesterday, 07/17/10, Laura Leigh (Herd Watch) was denied her constitutional rights by the BLM to observe the roundup of the Owyhee horses. In a court hearing on Thursday, 07/16/10, Judge Hicks, evoked the First Amendment and granted Laura Leigh the right to observe the roundup.  When she arrived at the roundup site she was denied access and told that she was not on the BLM's list of attendees.

The BLM continues to hold themselves above the law and do whatever they please.  Just to briefly reiterate, at the hearing on Thursday, Bob Abbey convinced Judge Hicks that the Owyhee horses needed to be rounded up because they were dying of dehydration.  Yesterday, Laura Leigh found watering holes fenced off preventing any access to the wild horses. The horses, of course, are dehydrated because they cannot get to the watering holes.  Again, a tangled web of lies and deceit woven by the BLM just so they can remove our precious horses for El Paso (Ruby Pipeline), BP and cattlemen.

Owyhee Wild Horse Roundup and Laura Leigh's First Amendment Rights

The Owyhee wild horses are being rounded up today in 100+ weather. Judge Hicks lifted the TRO but granted Laura Leigh (Herd Watch) her First Amendment rights by allowing her to observe the roundup. Not an enviable task, but I couldn't imagine a better person for the job. Many advocates hope that Laura's presence as an outside observer will halt some of the inhumane treatment of the horses during the roundup. I wish this writer could be as optimistic.

Judge Hicks lifted the TRO after the BLM convinced him that the horses would die of dehydration if something wasn't done immediately.  Of course, the BLM, due to their tremendous concern for the welfare of these horses will supply the water after they brutally run them, tiny foals and mares included, in 100+ weather by helicopters, and further dehydrate and stress these animals beyond endurance. How ludicrous is this line of thinking?

7 Wild Horses Die During First Day of BLM Tuscarora Roundup

Despite public outcry, the BLM and their killer helicopter roundup team, the Cattoors, chose to thumb their noses at wild horse advocates, once again, and conduct a deadly roundup of America's beloved wild horses.

HSUS Vet Gets a Peek at the Calico Wild Horses - Not a Pretty Picture

BLM's policy does not provide for any medical pain relief for castrated horses.

Sick foals are still being kept in the general population area instead of quarantined with their mothers.

Must-See Video - George Knapp Reveals BP and El Paso in Bed Together

George Knapps hard-hitting interview confirms what we've all suspected for a long time.  The government and large oil companies have their private agenda and it does not include the welfare of our wild horses or the American public.

BLM Summer Roundups

The BLM will not allow us to see but we can still feel the pain of the coming roundups.  Ken Salazar, roaring helicopters,  frightened and panting horses, little ones running for their lives, incarceration,  castration, disease and death. This is what waits only days away for horses who should be running free.
